We booked a table for 7 30pm but didn't eat our starter until 45mins later. I didn't really understand the system as it looked like the place closed at 9.30pm and there were lots of people not eating! However, I realised there is a method and the food when it came was absolutely delicious. I would just be wary if you book, especially with kids or ravenous, to take a possible delay into account. The staff were lovely and I enjoyed the whole byo bottle (shop right next door) and cash only made the night a bit more quirky. We had veg tempura and chicken satay starters with red curry beef and veg/tofu green curry tofu not slimy cooked to perfection
Read previous reviews, obviously have not experienced good Thai food. Travelled to Thailand many times Soi shouldn’t have expected similar food in Abergavenny, however, compared to Sydney my home city, the quality, taste, and cost was what disappointed me. At first I thought this restaurant will be ok. Nicely fitted out, Thai people running it. I don’t need a welcome snap, you can’t buy alcohol and it’s cash only. Two starters, sate chicken leathery with a sauce probably out of a can. The main, overcooked chicken, tasteless. A stir fry should come straight out of the wok, served hot, not warm. It was awful. Looking forward to getting back to my local Thai in Sydney, far superior food for half the price.
Wonderful selection of starters, Thai curries and all kinds of other other dishes. Service also really good and you take take your own drinks with you. Great place.
Our first visit to the Boonta Too but it won't be the last. The food was fresh and deicious and the service attentive without being intrusive.
