Thanasis Tavern - Monash

Came here for a surprise birthday and was pleasantly surprised!. A very nice, cosy venue that makes you feel welcome and serves great quality food. The owners go above and beyond to make sure we were looked after.Highly recommend!

The Dear Luncher did once visit when it was still Thanasis, but this was the first visit under its new moniker of Lexi. With a nice new paint-job and facelift, the tired old surrounds of Thanasis were a distant memory. The Dear Luncher recalls not being blown away by the fare on his last visit. This time, in attendance for a function, The Dear Luncher began to wonder if the changes to this old-school Greek tavern were only cosmetic. Or was there also improvement on the cuisine front? The answer is yes. The banquet/set-menu Your Dear Luncher experienced was fairly consistent across the board and enjoyed by all and sundry. The highlights for The Dear Luncher: saganaki and the lamb. The chicken skewers being a tad dry was the only disappointment. The Dear Luncher also felt that whilst there was an abundance of entrees, there was not enough by way of main-plate meat. Yeah, well, that’s just like Your Dear Luncher’s opinion, man. <br/ <br/ This is a bit of a different venue from the usual Greek restaurants around the South East of Melbourne, in that it has an old-school Euro vibe about it, with the dance floor and Greek music. <br/ <br/ “Sometimes you eat the bear, and sometimes, well, he eats you.”

Where do i start!!Out of all the greek food i have tried in the oakleigh area the food here at Lexi is number 1! The quality is outstanding the service is spectacular and the venu is just perfect! My partner and i celebrated a pretty special occasion here and are so glad we did! The amount of food we got given was amazing! So much!!!! But thats great! You want a lot of food, you want people to be full when leaving and you want people to tell there friends all about it!The staff are amazing! The waiters and waitresses are all fantastic. Friendly, hospitable , helpful and a lot of fun! The two owners Abraham and Maria are such gorgeous people! They made our night perfect! Everything was spectacular and cant wait to come back.Food: calamari, dips and warm bread was outstanding! Some of the best fried calamari i have had!!The zucchini and saganaki was delicious!!The fish cooked perfectly and very tasty.Chicken and lamb was perfect and the meatballs were so flavoursum! SqueezyD and i enjoyed everything!! Thanks guys! Please dont change a thing

We went on Saturday night for a family meal and left very satisfied.  We had 2 x kid's meals which were very large portion for a kids meal but was fantastically presented.  The kids ate as much as they could but said it was better than papou's (but don't tell him).<br/ <br/ We had the meat platter for 2, the portion size was fantastic was fabulously presented and very tasty.<br/ <br/ The service was excellent and the hosts made us feel very welcome.  I will be back.

Staff very friendly, made us feel welcome and relaxed, good service. Food was very good. Live Greek music and dancing was great. Reasonably priced. Authentic and enjoyable Greek experience! Would definitely go there again. Thank you!
