Bidrage med feedbackThe breakfast at this transport cafe was fantastic, just as one would expect. The exterior may not be much to look at, but don't be discouraged by that. The staff, particularly the friendly and welcoming women, make the experience even better.
I stopped off for breakfast this morning. The full English I opted for was about the same price as you would pay in a supermarket cafe but that 's where the similarity ends. What I was given consisted of very tasty thick cut bacon, well cooked eggs (with a nice runny yolk), good quality sausages, crispy hash browns, two slices of toast, baked beans and a nice mug of tea. Plenty of parking available and good and clean inside with an extensive menu. What 's not to like?
We live in an age of reheated frozen food in pubs or hugely overpriced so called gastro/artisan outlets with pretentious overuse of five adjectives on everything locally sourced , freshly on the menu. The same places will have a children 's menu that 's only does cheap to make and unhealthy nuggets and chips, frozen chicken things and chips, chips and chips with zero imagination. The Cabin has been a treasure amongst all that and cooks just decent meat and vegetables meals using fresh ingredients I know their kitchen that 's inately healthy and also very filling. It 's been something my children would have there, knowing they were having something good for them. There 's also a good choice of fry ups and smaller stuff big snacks like scrambled eggs on toast, if that 's what you 're looking for. I have been coming here on and off for years at least since 2008, probably earlier. It 's a pleasure every time, particularly as the staff have always been warm and welcoming.
The best food for miles I still remember it from years ago and still can't beat the Twin axle or Scania breakfasts.
This café is still one of the best out there. I have been coming here for years and it never disappoints. They still offer overnight parking for HGVs and serve food until 18:30. The café has been on this site since 1933, which is quite impressive. Not many can say that.
