So clear catering for a visit and never again. Meat hard and full of tendons. Plate left on the table until you go. Comments ignored. If there is a choice, go somewhere else.
Went here while staying at the Holiday Inn after a 4 minute walk. Although the restaurant has not the perfect looks, the food was a real surprise, as well as the bill afterwards. I had a very tasty meal at a more than decent price, but also drinks are extremely reasonably priced.
Spent a week in Europe on business travel that included Düsseldorf, Cologne, and Frankfurt as well as Toulouse France and Zurich Switzerland. Got to the hotel after a long week of travel before the flight home the next day and just wanted some place to relax, unwind, and have some comfort food. Checked TripAdvisor and realized this was walking distance from the hotel so it became my first choice. Honestly I would travel back to this area just to sit outside, enjoy a couple beers and eat here again. Think total comfort food served at a nice casual pace with no need to rush off. Loved it ! Schnitzel . . .amazing ! Side of fried potatoes . . . Awesome !! Add a couple nice beers and then top it off with some warm berries and vanilla ice cream and it was truly one of the best dinners of the week. The waiter was super cool and while he appreciated my poor attempt to speak German he quickly switched to better English than mine. The outdoor seating had the feel of a Biergarten and was super laid back and relaxed. Don't miss this jewel if your in the area.
Only in Germany you have an urban environment, near the airport, where you can find a small piece of beautiful forest literally over the street from the hotel and in a totally idyllic environment. My only disappointment as I felt a definite déjà vu was that we did not eat outside with the beautiful wooden tables and chairs. But the interior was very welcoming, and Anthony, the owner and server, was impeccable to welcome us and serve us. My first feeling of déjà vu was the food outdoors; I felt that I had been there before; the second saw Anthony, who resembled my father 't.' My father died when I was seven, about sixty years ago from June 11th. Anthony was a great man (my father over 5’ 7,’’’, but I swear he is a long lost cousin and a little younger than my father’s photos when he died. My pictures of a thirty father look exactly like Anthony. The food was amazing and also the red wine. We asked for a red wine, a house red, and it was a regional variety, smooth and yet with personality. The Wiener Schnitzel with Jaeger sauce was absolutely delicious and served with frits. The apple strudel for Dessert was dying. I cannot recommend this restaurant very much. It's certainly a jewel of a restaurant. Some of our party ate the vegetarian course, a pasta in a mushroom cream sauce, and apparently it was also delicious. This is not a restaurant to miss and it is very close to Frankfurt Airport.
We visited the Holiday Inn during the stay. It was literally 2 minutes walk away. The food (carving and beer) was exactly what we needed after 3 weeks of travel around Europe. Friendly service!
