The restaurant Haus Eckartz in Mönchengladbach-Mennrath had long noticed me on the road between Wickrath and Mennrath. In the dark, the building is often illuminated appealingly from the outside and the restaurant looks large and invites you from the outside. At lunch we decided to dinner. We had not received; this did not seem necessary today. The outside impression of the restaurant could not be confirmed at the entrance. The locality is divided into two rooms that are not very large. On one side there is a pub area with counter, on the other side there is a dining area with several tables. Another dining room seemed separate and not open today. The separation of the premises had the advantage that it was relatively quiet in the dining room. Overall, everything was very neat. The tables were very carefully covered and noticeably clean. The toilet was also exemplary. What we noticed a little less positive was the dark atmosphere in the dining room. Although there was a very good weather outside, the large room was illuminated with few windows only brightly. The interior created a somewhat older impression; the restaurant was an old dinner, and the audience was mostly formed from older guests. Many seemed to be regular guests. The menu was enough. There were good bourgeois cuisine. Waiting times were good. The service was natural and friendly. We ate a main dish with a salad. Everything tasted very good and made a fresh and good impression. However, I had suspected that the salad was partly made from acidic ingredients (including herbal salad) and was not freshly produced. Otherwise it tasted fresh and very good and is so recommended. FAZIT: As already written, the food was recommended and really tasted very well. Because of the dark atmosphere and the predominantly older audience, I would probably not go there more often (up to 30 years). But I believe that someone looking for a family-run restaurant with good food in a quiet atmosphere will certainly feel very comfortable there.

Was recently a guest at Haus Eckartz. In short, you can return at any time. Nice, pleasant operation, pleasant atmosphere and food really delicious! But be careful: the portions are really big. It takes a really great hunger to get ready. And that at very usual prices!

The house of good cuisine in Mennrath, compliment on hospitality, we were very fed with everything, it was a very beautiful evening and very sensitive. on the harvest complete weekend there are acidic roasts, roulette or goulash. A beer liqöur, obtained by the waitress, is also a must to taste.

There is a smell here for a long time. Last week I had dinner with my friend here, eating was okay. the service was overwhelmed and refreshed from the table. the interior decoration saw more than German stubborn, here the wet no effort to renovate! it was actually..I myself missed the grieschichen flair.
