Ma Pa's Kettle - Missouri

Have visited a handful of times and they're inconsistent with their flavor and portion sizes. My very first visit was during the night shift and I had a phenomenal experience. Huge portion for a great price. I actually came back the next morning to order the exact same item, but this time it was literally less than half the portion, was missing ingredients and was bland. One of the best diners anyone could go to. Absolutely love this place been going there since I was a kid!!

Food was really good, we did have to make some substitutions due to them being out of items which is why they didn't get 5 stars for food: lots of meals had ingredients they were out of. Service was pretty great. But they only had 9 customers at the time 2 workers- cook waitress only, if they'd gotten busy it would have been impossible for the 2 to keep up. They allow smoking, which killed the atmosphere for me.

Frozen food reheated for the masses. Nothing special or worth coming back for. Sandwich was very light on meat. Chicken fried steak was frozen and thrown in a fryer. Country potato chunks didn't have onions/peppers or even any seasoning other than salt. Overall highly disappointed, wouldn't return or recommend. They did follow instructions and the food was well packaged.

Our waitress was very polite and quick an doing her job and that was with 9 people very well done.
