Bidrage med feedbackIt's a very pleasant restaurant, with a huge veranda overlooking the river, really nice for an aperitif. The restaurant itself is quite a good size, we had a large round table for 10 in a corner, which was excellent. We all had the famous dried codfish with fried potatoes , onions and scrambled eggs. Very good and portions huge so ask for less, and price very reasonable i.e. codfish meal Euro 13. The staff was very professional and friendly. We booked beforehand as it was Sunday lunch and in the end the restaurant was pretty full. For dessert, there was a table set with different choices, not particularly good. Definitely recommend the Parador.
I thought it would be a decadent old hotel and it turned out to be a beatiful nicelly renovated hotel. Nice food too and great town to visit.
We tramped in after a long day hiking and sight seeing. We followed the server’s recommendations from dinner selections to wine and port and everything was very good.
If you want a hotel with outstanding views across the Douro then you need to consider here. All rooms have a view like those in the images attached. We never saw many staff at any time but the few who were there coped admirably and at no time did we feel neglected. I'll certainly book here again.
Light and airy restaurant which would be beautiful open to the air in the summer. It was cosy on our chilly winter visit. Good, traditional, Portuguese food was well presented and served by pleasant staff. More variety in the menu might have encouraged us to eat here more often.
