Bidrage med feedbackAs seen from my previous review, this establishment has lost a point in evaluation. I visited on Saturday, March 25th with my wife, son, granddaughter, and mother-in-law. The restaurant is still charming and relatively small. The food was diverse and very good, as usual. The staff were always friendly and helpful. The only downside of this visit was the maple syrup on snow dessert in the old sugar shack. Usually, they have a frame with snow on which the syrup is poured, allowing it to freeze a little before being rolled onto a popsicle stick. However, on this occasion, there was an issue with the snow machine and they had to use crushed ice instead. The result was disappointing, as there was more ice than syrup. For an additional fee, there is a ride available for guests to visit the maple trees and return to the restaurant. It was a lovely outing for the children.
We enjoyed our meal, from the soup to the maple baked ham and maple cake. The omelette was fluffy and topped with ham slices. For dessert, we tried the torte which was deliciously sweet. After the meal, we received fresh maple taffy at the evaporator house behind the restaurant. A tip for future visitors is to call and make a reservation to ensure prompt service. We arrived without one on a weekday and were seated within 15 minutes. Once seated, expect to spend about 1.5 hours to enjoy all the courses. We chose to dine here to escape the city noise and enjoy a day trip outside of Montreal.
We visited Constantin's yesterday with our family of 4, including our 2 year old granddaughter. We have been here before and have always had a great experience, and yesterday was no different. To get here, you pass by a wonderful sugar shack on boul Arthur Sauve in St-Eustache. The parking can be a bit tricky, but once inside, the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. We had a reservation for 12:30 and were seated right on time. The restaurant has 2 large rooms that they alternate for seating, keeping things organized and efficient. The menu is displayed on a large wall in the lobby, offering a variety of homemade and delicious dishes. We were impressed with the quality of the food, and the portion sizes were generous. For dessert, we had a choice of pouding chomeur, tarte au sucre, or pancakes - all delicious options. After finishing our meal, we enjoyed some tire sur la neige, where you swirl a popsicle stick in snow to collect maple syrup - a fun and tasty treat. The staff were friendly and accommodating, making us feel like part of the family. There is also a small farm area where children can interact with animals like chickens, lambs, goats, and ponies. Overall, the experience was delightful and we felt it was well worth the $24 per person, with children under 3 dining for free. Constantin's is truly a dream farm and a perfect spot for a family day out.
As you see by my previous review, this place has lost a rating point. I was there last Saturday March 25th with my wife, son, grand-daughter and mother-in-law. The place is still nice and relatively small. The food, as usual, was varied and very good, the staff always as friendly and helpful. The only negative point of this visit was the maple syrup on snow after the meal in the old sugar shack. Usually, you have a rack with snow upon which the syrup is ladled out. The syrup then freezes a bit and, with a popsicle stick, you roll it on the syrup. Excellent. Last Saturday, the attendant said they had a problem with the snow machine so they had to put cracked ice instead of snow. The result was disastrous: you had a stick with more ice than syrup. There is a tractor ride for $ 2,00 per person that takes you into the field where the maple trees are and comes back to the shack. Nice ride for the kids.
Beautiful sugar hut off the tourist circuits. typical meal, yelling ears, (crumbs of grilled lard and salted ) omelette compared by the French to that of the mother poulard, smoked meat, chomeur poudding, maple pie, everything is there!!! singer Quebecois, atmosphere and warm rustic decoration, and to close this beautiful evening, maple shoot not to be missed in the nearby hangar.
