Sidebar At Surdyk’s - Minneapolis

I enjoyed a long lunch at the cozy bar top corner. This is a wonderful little bar and restaurant attached to a local icon specialty grocery. Really good food, cocktails, local beer taps and wine list.

Absolutely amazing dinner experience at Sidebar! The staff was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. The recommendations for cocktails and dinner were phenomenal. Everything is unique and delicious. A fun atmosphere. I will come backevery time for this NE highlight.

We stopped by for lunch on a Saturday. The place was Pretty busy. This restaurant and bar is a relatively new part of Surdyks which is an old deli also selling all kinds of wine and spirits and beer, which has been around since 1934. The service is greatand I am sure the food is good but we were not impressed with the charcuterie platter we ordered. We will try other dishes infuture visits and review.

4/23/22: our server, Daniel A, was excellent and very friendly. I enjoy the Wild Pear Free NA drink, my wife liked her Start Me Up cocktail. My wife's Alabama White BBQ Spare Ribs were very good. My order of the Campanelle Shrimp Fra Diavolo was OK,everything came out look kind of brownish, not appealing. I wish the chef would have topped it with some fresh herbs for a nicerpresentation. All in all: service was a 5-star, food was a 4-star. 12/16/21:We came back 7 months later. Our server, Sophie L,was friendly, knowledgeable of the menu, and courteous. Cocktails, Wine, and Foods were great. 5/12/21: Fantastic service fromKate C. We let her know right away that our group is fully vaccinated, and we mask up walking around the place. The cocktails(Smash Bang Boom, and That Don't Impress Me Much) were nicely presented and tasted good. We also enjoyed the Cheese Plate, andthe Marinated Olives, such an incentive idea from the chef. I had the Strip Steak, tasted a bit salty, and still flavorful. Mywife really liked her Roasted Halibut. It's nice to have another dining option in the neighborhood.

Nice ambient bar restaurant attached to Surdyks Liquor store. The host sever were very friendly and helpful. Menu changes from time and the variety of options is limited (A 4% wellness is added to the bill). The bartender definitely knows how to makegood cocktails. The hot honey and cheese curds were delicious. It was a decent classic cheeseburger fries.
