The Old Ship Aground - Minehead

I walked from Butlins to this restaurant for a decent lunch. Unfortunately, the service was extremely slow and they seemed to be understaffed. Some of our orders were missed and we had to follow up multiple times. The food that eventually arrived was disappointing. It's a shame because I had a good experience here last year. Overall, I would rate the service a 2 and the location a 4.

The staff was friendly, but our food took an hour to arrive and was cold. They offered us free dessert as compensation, but overall, I wouldn't give this restaurant a high rating. I do not recommend it if you are looking for a nice dining experience. The menu selection is limited and the prices are high. I would give it 2 stars overall. The food and drinks were cold but tasted decent. The rooms and service both receive a rating of 1, while the location is a 3.

I had a great stay here. The staff were the most friendly and welcoming team. The pub is in a nice location with a sea view from the window. The food was good and the bed was comfy. Breakfast was included and they made me a sandwich to go which was awesome. I look forward to returning when I am next here for work. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5

My wife and I came here while we were in Minehead. It's in a lovely location by the harbour, tucked away and quieter than the centre of Minehead. We turned up at Saturday lunchtime without much hope of getting a seat, but they made room for us in the extension at the back of the building. The food was lovely. Quite possibly the best fish and chips I've ever had. The batter was very crispy, the chips were lovely and the portion was huge. They have rooms available, so if we're ever in Minehead, we will definitely be staying with them. Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Great view, Quiet, Great value
