Fairways Tavern - Minden

I was extremely satisfied with my gluten-free steak sandwich. Typically, gluten-free bread can be disappointing, but not at this restaurant! My dining companion opted for a gluten-containing dish and also thoroughly enjoyed their meal.

My partner and I decided to dine at Fairways Tavern tonight, which turned out to be a mistake. We arrived just before 5:30 and promptly placed our order to avoid a long wait. We ordered cheese bread, a medium-rare t-bone steak, and 12 oysters Kilpatrick. I was surprised to see children in the bar, and one of them even belonged to a coworker. We waited patiently for our meals, with me eventually having to ask a young waiter to ensure my partner's steak wasn't overcooked. After waiting for 1 hour and 20 minutes, our food finally arrived. The oysters were dry and overcooked, leading me to believe they had been left to sit while my partner's steak was being cooked. At almost $40 for the oysters, we only ate 3 of them. While we don't mind paying nearly $100 for a meal, we expect the food to be worth it. It seemed like the staff didn't prioritize our meals, considering there were only 4 people in the bar, including us and a child. I had to wait through 3 games of Keno just to check my ticket. I hope they improve their service, as several people have expressed similar concerns about the food and service. We won't be returning, and we certainly wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The female staff serving customers needs some training in customer service.

The restaurant had a fantastic family-friendly atmosphere and the food was very enjoyable. All the staff were friendly and accommodating, with service that was top-notch.

We sat for a meal in our local golf club and we came without expectations and we were not excessively disappointed for that. the time of the meal was long and the eating was average. the prices were reasonable.

Awesome food, generous servings and great prices, delicious, great atmosphere and decor, cannot fault. A proud gem of a country tavern.
