Final Approach - Milwaukee

Mom and I celebrated St.Patricks day. The food was great. We made a suggestion for the holiday maybe have a junior portion of the special!! Way too much to eat! I guess not a bad thing right

This is one of our favorites in Milwaukee. They offer a drive-through Fish-Fry as well as in-house (reservations strongly suggested). The ambiance is great and so is the staff. Bar and cocktails before dinner is usually fun with a fair pour. The Walleye is recommended, either in pan-fried or breaded version. The fillet seems a little bigger if ordered breaded. Had a great time dining in today with my grandmother and sister. Our waitress- who I believe was named Tiffany(? was wonderful and attentive. My grandma said that she was the “best waitress I’ve had in a while” anywhere. We all enjoyed our interaction with the waitress and the food was good too!

Their specials in January included Chicken Alfredo and oh my… it was absolutely delicious. Never expect much from a simple alfredo but this was so unique and flavorful. I believe they add a little beer to the sauce because it tasted a bit like beer cheese soup, which was a first for me but the addition made it rich and delicious. Definitely needs to be on the permanent menu!!

My review philosophy is always to review places that are either really good or really bad. I’ve eaten here twice, my first time I ordered a takeout burger, it was ice cold, the cheese wasn’t even melted at all, so that was a strike. The fish dinner was good, nice beer battered cod. So I thought I’d give it another try with a bucket of take out fish fry. I thought I’d be getting the same beer battered cod, which is what I ordered but instead I was served small breaded pieces of fish which they claim are cod. I’m not sure if it was or wasn’t but it didn’t taste remotely the same. The portions were generous but to add another problem on top of it the food made both me and my father nauseous. This could be caused by what I’m assuming is old fry oil. They wouldn’t refund us either when we brought a full untouched meal as well as a meal which we had eaten about 25 percent of back the day after (I ordered it the night before). The awful service, changing quality and lack of communication of what you’re actually ordering is abysmal. If you eat here do it on credit so you can charge it back if it turns out as awful as it did for us as they will not refund you. The drive thru menu is not the same as their normal takeout and they do not tell you this, so beware when ordering.
