Cafe Hollander East Side - Milwaukee

The concept of this Cafe is a success. The look and taste have a definite Flemish influence, making it just as easily Belgian as Dutch. They offer unique dishes like Bitterballen, a Dutch fried meatball, as well as perfectly sized and fried frites with delicious sauces. The Yankee offerings, sandwiches, and mac and cheese are all executed nicely. The beer selection is fantastic and complements the overall concept of the restaurant. Brunch items are satisfying, and their ****** Marys are excellent. The food and service are worth every penny, and the restaurant is not pretentious or overpriced. Overall, the concept is solid and the experience is enjoyable. If only the ownership had stayed true to their vision with the Trocadero relaunch, it would still be in the same league as this restaurant.
