Bidrage med feedbackA nice pub on the high street of olney with great people behind the bar and around the pub. the beer is good and the offer is always of the highest quality. So, if they ever have in olney and have a few free time options for free this is a certain place to check!
A real old pub, 2 rooms with a small, busty bar, the lounge is s large room and cats for mealtimes, good choice of beer, eating looked very nice with some old skool desserts in the offer. we go back to eat something when the next in the opposite
Beautiful staff. customer friendly has a nice welcome feeling. not yet eaten there .. but the gluten-free options and vegan looked nice.
We visited on Olney's busiest day, Dickens of a Christmas, but still managed to get a seat, albeit at a tiny table, because we were hungry. Situated beside the roaring log fire, we quickly warmed up after our walk around town. We noticed a special menu and decided to eat here instead of going home to cook, which turned out to be a great choice. We both ordered the Roast Turkey with trimmings, but when it arrived, we couldn't find the turkey at first. After moving the trimmings around, we discovered three succulent slices hidden under a mountain of greens, veggies, potatoes, and a huge Yorkshire pudding. The food was cooked to perfection and there was plenty of it, so much so that I had to help my wife finish her portion. We also enjoyed a couple of drinks and chatted with other visitors to town who were also taking advantage of the kitchen offerings. Overall, the food was great, served quickly, and perfect for that particular day.
We decided to take a break from cooking and went to 'the Brewers' for a meal. The newly designed bar area is a huge improvement from a year ago, with comfortable lounge furniture for drinkers and dining tables in the same area. Although the menu has been reduced, there is still a good selection to cater to most tastes. My wife had the Prawn Cocktail and I had the autumn veg soup, both of which were tasty and a good value. For our mains, we had the Chicken Ham Pie, which was excellent with a generous amount of ham and chicken, and the Beef Lasagne, which was extremely tasty but could have used a bit more beef. The food was of high quality, the service was excellent, and the fact that we also had drinks meant we got great value for less than £40.
