The Durant Arms - Milton Keynes

We celebrated a birthday. The experience at this restaurant was excellent from start to finish. We received a warm welcome and were escorted to our pre-booked table. The staff was very prompt in responding to emails. I especially liked the wing back pews and the good selection of wines. We tried the chorizo starter, which had a well-balanced flavor (not too much paprika, thankfully). We all enjoyed our Sunday roasts - I had the venison, my daughter had the beef, and my wife had the chicken. The meats were tender and the simple vegetables tasted great. The Yorkshire pudding was especially good. For dessert, we had ice cream and tried the affogato, which had vanilla ice cream and not overly sweet espresso coffee served in a cup so we could add as desired. Overall, we all really enjoyed our meals and will definitely return.

We had an amazing meal. Service was fantastic and the food was very tasty and perfectly cooked. Highly recommended.

Our table booked for 7 15 arrived at 7 for drinks ordered food at 7 15, took 45 minutes for the starters to arrive, and two of those were only olives, and 8 45 our mains arrived, this after being informed several veggie items had sold out, so the only option for three of us was the cauliflower dish, I had a steak and my son had a dried out burger. Well we all thought too late for coffee and any dessert, after finishing, at no time during our stay did any waiting staff check us , talk to us, ask us if all okay, poor being the understatement here, i had to apologise to our friends and family who are visiting for the weekend for a terrible experience , I would invite anybody for the Durant Arms to speak to me personally, I've heard the food is good v not so good service, but this takes the biscuit and we shall not visit again, this being my second visit . You can see this stems from poor management and I am not blaming anybody in the kitchen as food was being dished out all night. Anyway, there ya go Durant!

I have to start by saying that the service at this restaurant was awful. My party and I ordered appetizers and main courses, but we had to wait an hour for our starters to come out. When they finally arrived, I was disappointed with my Thorizo toast starter. The toast was burnt and there were only five small pieces of chorizo on the plate. Our main courses took another hour to arrive, and they were also disappointing. The chips were undercooked and the bun for my burger tasted stale. No one asked us if we wanted drinks – we had to go up to the bar to place our drink orders. No one checked on our food or apologized for the long wait. It seemed like the staff just didn't care at all. Despite all of this, we still left a tip.

Stayed the night with the two pooches. Lovely comfy room to rest our legs after a long country walk. Booked into the pub for a meal as well, last time in 2021, had the pie. Lightning does strike twice especially in my belly! Had the pie again and amazing as always! Had a lovely full English. Rooms are dog friendly.
