Bidrage med feedbackDelicious no-fuss location for Singaporean fare. Went here with a large group for Saturday lunch. We had a reservation so they had seating for us. I enjoyed the newspaper-style Singapore comics. All the food was delicious and the family (it's a mom and pop type place) were very patient with our complicated group payment. I'm knocking off 1 star because our waiter suggested 3 appetizers which we agreed to, but brought out 3 orders of each of the 3 appetizers which is not what we ordered. We had only wanted 1 order of each. He did graciously give us some of the extra orders for free to avoid wasting food, and I appreciated that.
Authentic Malay style curry chicken! Ordered a pickup for curry chicken noodle, curry chicken coconut rice and kaya toast. We liked the kaya toast very much, it was my favorite snack in childhood. The curry chicken was tender and spicy. In overall, I recommended their tender chicken curry and kaya toast, affordable menu. Keep digging treasures from them!
The Korean Restaurant in the plaza I planned to eat at was closed. Then I stumbled upon Kopitiam Cafe. I had an idea of what I wanted to order from the menu I read outside but asked the young man at the register to suggest something and there was a daily special of stuffed veggies or something. I don't really know what it was but it was a really good dining experience. They also gave me a sample of Singaporean curry that was super tasty and different from any curry I was familiar with (Thai, Indian, etc. I look forward to returning!
My husband and I went to Kopitiam Cafe to pick up some laksa paste/mix. The owner ? was so helpful!! He showed us exactly what type of coconut milk to get chaokoh and the noodles ng fung brand and how to cook it 10 minutes perfect, 12 minutes soft . He even gave us a to-go bowl of laksa broth to show us how it's supposed to look when we make it ourselves. Can't wait for covid to be over so we can dine-in. Until then, making laksa at home with the help of great advice!
Love the milk tea very much. The dried fishes with the sauce for rice are delicious too.
