Baladi - MILITELLO IN VAL DI CATANIA

For those who are in the vicinity of Mineo, I think it is one of the best restaurants I have eaten at. The only flaw that in my opinion should be improved are the bathrooms that are too small and there isn't even one for the disabled. The location is nice but could be improved by adding some Sicilian decorations as it is rustic. I would like to point out that the place has changed its name and is now called the masseria di scurpiddu

New management, both the pizzas and desserts are excellent

This agriturismo is supposed to be authorized by the region of Sicily to offer scholastic excursions/courses. We went with our childrens ' school and were highly disappointed. The food was good, but it was a special kid-friendly (tomato pasta and meat dish only) menu, so I can 't really comment on the food aspect. However, the site was in poor condition, with a rickety old wooden path leading to the parking lot and 'mini zoo ' area. This area consisted of four goats and a handful of chickens ' there were also some bunnies in a closed area that the children were able to see for a few minutes. This area was not safe for small children to be left unattended due to the poor condition of the wooden pathway. The snail section (the main attraction) was highly disappointing. We only saw a handful of living snails unfortunately. Overall, the educational part was very limited and it was definitely not worth the long drive our school made to get there to see a few animals. There are surely newer and more interesting agriturismi in Sicily to be seen!
