Bidrage med feedbackBest meal we had in Italy. Very reasonably priced.
Great tasting chicken gluten free pasta. Very close to Milan station. The owner was attentive to my dietary needs, for which I was thankful. I returned again for dinner the next day because I greatly enjoyed the meal and quick, attentive service. Thanks also for the complementary lemon dessert on both days
First the positive. Reasonable quality and quantity of food at a fair price for a restaurant. Negative. It was a busy time with the restaurant almost full, so it was understandable that the meals took longer than normal time to arrive at our table. The entirety of the service was taking our order then bringing the plates of food and the drinks to our table. No ongoing service or checking if we wanted more food or drink. After finishing our meal we waited for some time, waiting for the plates to be taken and our bill to be given to us. Nothing. 2 of us walked to the front counter to pay. Stood for at least 10 minutes waiting, trying to keep out of the way of staff, while the maitre’d was discussing a transaction with other customers, and being distracted by children who were having their dinner next to the front counter (presumably children or relatives of owners). We were totally ignored, and it got to the stage we were going to leave cash on the counter then walk out. When she finally spoke with us she was going to arrange a table for us. We had to explain to her that we had already eaten and wanted to pay then leave. We had to tell her what we had for food and drinks. She gave us the bill which included an unexpected service charge. Not discretionary apparently, and she insisted we pay the service charge in addition to the total for the meals and drinks. To be fair, there was a language barrier, but she appeared to be angry that we queried the service charge. The additional service charge was not a lot of money, but we were annoyed that it was compulsory when the service was almost non existent. To avoid further delay we paid the full amount including the service fee. In retrospect we should have simply walked out while standing next to the door being ignored for ten minutes. Food was a 4 and service was 1, so average rating overall. If we return to the area I will choose a different restaurant.
Went for dinner and was really surprised. The food and service was excellent. The owner was friendly, spoke English and we had a wonderful time. The resturant is close to Milano Centrale, within walking distance less than 10 minutes. It is well worth it, its where the locals eat.
