Angie's is one of my favorite traditional breakfast diners. Hometown, old school cooking. If you get there at the right time there is usually a table of old regulars having lively discussions about current and past events. I always enjoy eating my meal and listening to the banter.
The initial waitress took our order, but then a rude waitress came over 20 minutes later and asked if our order had been taken. I explained that it had been taken 20 minutes ago. She responded by saying they had tickets ahead of us. I ordered 2 pancakes and 2 bacon. The rude waitress then asked the nice waitress if what I said was true, and the nice waitress confirmed it. The cook was busy cleaning tables and sweeping floors, not cooking anything other than the buffet. Other people came in after us and were served before us. We ended up leaving without getting our food, almost 45 minutes later. Additionally, there was a strange smell.
I discovered this restaurant on Google while traveling on I-95 and needed a quick bite not too far from the highway. It was a charming old-fashioned diner where we were greeted promptly and seated ourselves. The prices were reasonable. The biscuits and sausage gravy were delicious, and my fiancé said his over-easy eggs and toast were cooked perfectly. He also enjoyed his bacon (and even offered to share). The staff even offered me a "tea to go," which was a nice bonus.
The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. It felt like home, but with even better food. Thank you.
