Takumi Japanese - Middletown

I got 3 sushi rolls, miso soup, and the hibachi steak fried rice. If I had just gotten the soup and sushi it would be 5 stars but man the fried rice was just not great. It was really just white rice with some sauce tossed on, it didnt seem fried at all. Sorry Takumi, I really like your sushi though. I do have to say again though, the sushi and soup was fantastic. Will 100% be ordering again for sushi and soup.

The sushi is amazing. My neighbor recommended this place to me last year, and ive been eating there ever since. My favorites are the spicy girl roll, and R23. Spicy Crabmeat Roll. The Side Order Hibachi Fried Ricer with the Side Yummy Sauce? Also amazing. If youre looking for a new sushi spot this is the place! Ive done pick up orders here, and they never seem busy, which is crazy cause there food is delicous. Stop in and have some sushi!!!

Sauces on top of sushi aren’t mentioned in the menu. Also not very tasty. Kind of has a weird vomit taste. Regular sushi was great. Kani Salad was great. Rolls were unbearable

The sushi was great but the Rock Shrimp was Tempura Shrimp cut into little pieces.

Red bean ice cream was amazing! Tofu Teriyaki, however, was not. It was seared/fried to get a crispness in the tofu, but it was soggy and limp and had no color, no crisp, and no flavor, and the no flavor would have been fine if not for the fact that the teriyaki sauce was weirdly sweet, I wish it was spicy. The food was cold, lacked flavor, and oil from whatever they fried it in was dripping from the container. So ice cream is a yes, teriyaki is a no. Maybe it was just because I got tofu. As a vegetarian, its understandable that tofu wont taste like meat, but I wish it tasted like.. something? Also way too expensive for the lack-luster experience.
