Celtic Cavern - Middletown

Good spot, but I expected it to be cool, being in a basement. Went in a hot summer day and it was so warm we only stayed for a drink. Great menu though and would definitely come back, though only after the weather cools off. Update: went back in November and had a very good experience. Cozy night out on a cold and rainy fall night.

SOOO good. Very German menu and pretty close to authentic (according to my husband). Great prices for fantastic food and the wait staff will help you select the right beer for you with samples based on your palette. Recommend for anyone passing through like we were.

The food was about average for takeout. It's alright pub food but it lives and dies by freshness and heat. Their cuisine is the type to really benefit from it like burgers, fries, and pretzels. I'd give it 3.5 if I could. 4 stars if you dine-in. Post covid they had a great pub experience and really friendly wait staff.

We had great bacon and smoked gouda burgers. The best burger that I've had out in a very long time! Fries were great. The waitresses were attentive and friendly. I recommend a meal out at the Celtic Tavern you won't be disappointed!
