Portofino Bar Grille - Middletown

The food is good here and the prices are about half compared to the rest of Newport. We dine with a couple of elderly people and it is always easy parking and easy t0o get in and out of the restaurant.

Prices are great and the food is good. Nice place to bring our elderly paraents.

The ambiance was great! Honestly this was a backup choice when I found out no restaurants were taking reservations downtown, but it immediately became THE perfect place for a family outing once we walked through the door. There was plenty of space for our party and even a pianist/guitarist playing the classics in the background. Couldn't have asked for a better evening!

The food was all served cold even after waiting for 45 min. We all ordered from the pick four menu to create a dish. The food tasted good but was cold. When we informed the waitress she was not surprised to hear it and had an oh well type of attitude. The bread that was served was warm and quite good so we mainly ate that.

We went on a Sunday evening. This is the restaurant for the hotel, but it has good food with great service for a reasonable price. There were only a few tables taken at the time we were there. We have been there other times when there were more guests, and while busy we never had to wait for a table. The hotel has lots of training and (small) conference meetings during the day and is further from the downtown tourist area so it usually has fewer guests staying than some, which is good for getting a table and having a quiet atmosphere.
