In our 3 weeks in merida, we managed to get to Momacoa twice. we had the ribs and the briskete for the first time, ripening and pulling gay for the second time. all the dishes are wonderful. crunchy coleslaw and a huge pickle make great beside dishes. second time, we also had their new dessert smoked banana, ice and chili chocolate sauce. it was the sky!
Momacoa was presented on rick bayless television series that cook yucatanean. one of the owners of momacoa visited the culinary institute of america and returned to merida. it merges barbeque with the yucatan. there is not much to offer to not carnivores. for example as. an appetizer made her chile rellenos with chopped smoked bark breeze. yucatan cooking is influenced by Lebanese immigrants. another starter was roasted pork belly on a pita like brot with a tazeki sauce like. the pork and smoked brisket was excellent. side contain cole Slav, drill and cole Slav (creamie style.) the space is small, with about 8 tables, and they have limited hours. they are not open for dinner. the restaurant is located on a next street opposite the shopping house liverpool. the owner speaks English and is ready to discuss her eating. we had an icy on basis of hamaica. I don't think they serve alcohol.
We are in love with Momacoa! The ribs, chopped beef and pork, chicken... all the meats are outstanding. And the sides: our family is addicted to their mac n cheese! It's a small dining area, and they sometimes run out of food in the late...afternoon. But that means that it's freshly prepared when you do get it! Nothing but raves from us, and we're picky barbeque fans!
Momacoa is a great little barbeque joint with super pulled pork, smoked ribs and more. there are smoky beans as well as to accompany their fleshy hargings not only to enjoy before location, but also to go in special non-styro containers that are compostable. A-plus!
