Hennessy's Irish Pub - Mérida

We visited this pub on our last night in Merida. Excellent music all evening had me singing along! Our food was lovely and I definitely recommend the chicken curry! Prices don’t break the bank either so I would definitely recommend whilst in Merida!

I went there many times since I moved to Merida last November. Today was the last time since they are discriminating people ! I attend a table for 2h30 and the internet was not functioning so I told the waiter not to worry and I...was going to watch people walking on the street. It happened that I saw a lot of nonsense in the application of the rules for the Covid ! Many people were going out of the restaurant without wearing a mask, they were going on the sidewalk to smoke and then they went back inside with no mask. One guy was trying to find the best spot on the terrace to plug his computer, he walked without mask and no one said anything. A couple arrived waving their hands to the waiters and the enter the place without temperature check and without sanitizing their hands. The receptionist unscrew the temperature check mobile before another couple enter the site. When they found a table on the terrace she placed it again so the next clients could check their temperature. Lots of clients are American and they have no respect for Covid rules and the employees attending the reception and terrace never did anything to change it. The waiter told me that yes this place is crowded with American people all the time. It was obvious to see the difference in applying the rules between American and Mexican. I told the waiter that since no body is respecting anything and you don't do anything about it there was no point for me to wear a mask when going to the bathroom or walking on the terrace. He did not say anything. After waiting 25 minutes to get my bill, I left the table going inside the restaurant to go to the bathroom without wearing mask just to see what was going to happen. I am Canadian The manager and one of his employee run after me to ask me to wear my mask ?????? They even escorted me outside the restaurant when I left the bathroom. CLEARLY DISCRIMINATION like my money is not good enough to be part of this little community, this is how I felt and I will never go back there. If you feel like going to a crowed american bar watching sports on TV and where there is no rules then go to Hennessy on Paseo de Montejo !

First time there, had salad Nisoise and it was excellent! Ordered the same thing the next day it was so bad. I mean nit even close to the day before. I complained but they ignored me from then on in. Service was not great. My...friends loved the nachos, another friend had the mushroom soup and it was awful. Not taste whatsoever.

I was glad to see that the restaurator continues to produce excellent cuisine. I have always engraved the fish and the chips and they are always excellent. the fish is tender and damp in a crispy crust that made the taste and...textur the cole Slav was delicious with only the right amunt os lightly sweetened dressing that was very similar to that made by my aunt. I had the Papas Francen lying in the Steak french and they were freshly deepened and crispy. a solid standby for a dinner choice or just drinks at the bar.

Great fun and food for a Mexican/Irish pub, but still tropical feel. Indoor and outdoor tables with great food options and service Miguel was awesome! Great for lunch or dinner but the live music night was so fun!
