Meningie Hotel Bistro

The meningie hotel was recommended to us as a good place for dinner, we were delighted to find that a fry on the menu in the night we were. the lamb roast with all the circumcisions they could want was really very...good and possibly the best meal of our 4 weeks in sa. we have made a booking since it was a Saturday, but it was not businessable due to many locals who participated in a sports function in a nearby city. in the rule it would be wise to book. the staff was helpful and we noticed that, as it was not busy, they tried to spread the small groups, so everyone was comfortable. we felt that this was a very thoughtful gesture.

This place really makes effort when it comes to catering for vegetarian. had a tomato-based ragu with creamy potato. fantastic. so beautiful, not faced with pumpkin and/or salat as a veggie option. they had a great one. sounding veggie curry on the menu, but I was hooked as soon as I heard 'mashed kartoffel '... double up! (Lovely staff also.

Had again the most fantastic weekend stay meningie, this time in our residential the lake albert caravan park. we had visited this hotel so often during a visit to the coorong in september 2021. felt like home to foot again, so friendly. with ice cold drinks delicious against meals. great to see, they have expanded their outdoor dining area from veranda to the big table bench large sunshades. I can't wait to get back up there. P.S was so nice to catch up with my partner old workmate clive his wife val too.

My experience to visit the frontbar was beyond the belief that we were treated with contempt from the assistent manager, which all in my group of friends annoyed I do not visit again

Housesitting right on the Coorong had friends come to visit us we decided a counter meal lunch was the go. Dining room wasn't open this Sunday (not sure if that's always the case) however we could book a table in the Front Bar....Windy, cold day was forgotten as soon as we stepped inside, lovely fire burning very friendly publican so we felt relaxed immediately. My partner I ordered the Roast of the Day which was Lamb, came with spuds, pumpkin cauliflower, tasty gravy ample mint jelly meat was tender delicious. Friends both ordered a Chicken Schnitzel topped with a Creamy Prawn Sauce, veges crispy chips looked scrumptious we were told it sure was! There was a steady stream of lunch customers who all seemed super happy. We noticed the Fish was popular by the look of the huge pieces in crispy looking batter that we spotted we could understand why. We're here until next Tues so no doubt we'll visit again for a meal before our departure.
