La Piazzetta - MENAGGIO

Excellent food and staff was very friendly. Only 3 staff to wait the tables but they hustle. Pizza was great and my wife had the lasagne alla bolognese and she liked it quite a lot. We are in town for 10 days and we have eaten dinner there 3 times so far. Not sure what happened to the folks who had bad experiences but it is a wonderful place to eat relax on the piazza.

Excellent home made pizza, fresh salad, we went back several times, though they only accepted cash. Not sure why such low score and reviews say pizza is frozen!

Very good pizza and the salad was fresh and tasty and also the ravioli was very good and the tiramisu was excellent Everything was delicious

The bill was not correct. They do not split the bill and we had to pay in cash. So find afterward we we found out that we had payed to much, and did not bother to go there again. Location and food was good.

We stopped by for lunch while visiting Menaggio, despite the negative reviews (we only looked at the reviews after we sat down). We had a very good experience. The place is in a nice square close to the water (not a water view) and is great for people watching. I had a pizza which was very good and more food than I could eat by myself. Another in our party had the Lasagna which was also very good. Others had the Parma Ham with Buratta Cheese with Rocket Salad and another had the Insalada con Bresaola Scaglie di Parmagino Fungi and Mais. Both salads were delicious. Overall, a nice experience. I know, people are bitching about the $3 (euros) service charge that they add per person to the bill. Not sure why this is an issue. People in Menaggio need to make a living. If they added a 10% service charge to the bill, it would have been about the same. Is everyone too cheap to pay for good service? This is a CASH ONLY place and there is no sign that says that. Perhaps their machine was down. We would visit again.
