Mi Pueblo - Memphis

I love this place. The drinks are GREAT. Me and my sister have become regulars at least once a week we go and have a few frozen margaritas and talk the night away. Much better than HAPPY MEXICAN (YUCK).

I left my I-phone on the table. The restaurant was not busy at this time, when I returned a short time (40 min) later I was told they did not have it. The phone was on top of the money I left on the table for the waiter(yeah I know, it was stupid). The waiter got his money and the bus boy cleaned the table. Yet they said it was another couple that was seated at the table for a margarita that must have taken it. Yeah right. Almost the whole restaurant was available when I left, and the entire section I was seated in was empty (both when I left returned, as it was close to closing) and they are telling me they sat this couple at a table that had not been cleaned yet so they could have a margarita. Not even the manager would speak in English to discuss this with me-they just said they did not have it.

The food was only so-so, actually not that great. The one though is we had a coupon that was buy one lunch entree get one up to a $7 value and they refused to honor that coupon unless we had bought something that was more that $7. The manager had a hard time understanding the coupon and we did pay full price. Don't put out coupons and not honor them. There are plenty of other better Mexican Restaurants in the Memphis area.

We heard of this place in other locations, and had heard many mixed reviews. We decided to give it a try, and we were glad we did. The prices were great, and the food was surprisingly good.

The people that own Mi Pueblo have several locations in the area, ranging from Southaven to Jackson, but they share a really simple menu with surprisingly fresh ingredients. The food is cheap and filling. I am a big fan of the queso fundido, and they have a dinner version with chicken, grilled veggies, and cheese dip that can't be beat. I give them the thumbs up for both dine-in and take-out.
