Bidrage med feedbackWe ate here because we made a booking in the other pub on the basis of reviews, but if we are there, the chef was not sick. we're sorry he was sick, but glad we were forced to change our plans because the meals in the north...Star were delicious. the first time we had eaten here, I had the burger and my man had the fish and chips. we had tweeper rings too. both meals were great. our second visit we both had the burger and were not disappointed. we did not ask for any chips with one of them because the burger is so big, we fought to eat the chips and all the wobble rings the last time. the burgerpattie is delicious. not sharp or salty. very humid. they were as tasty as well. delicious smoked speck, caramelized wobble, egg, root, salat. huge soft rolls that we fought to get through. bevelled rings are delicious with garlic aioli served. chips really good. we're coming back, just for the burger!
Booked accommodation for the redtruck on the way back from wilpena pound. in the north star hotel at 2,45pm third side door. locked! tried front door. it opened, so we went in, but it was dark and nobody was there! went outside and called the hotel. no answer! sat back in the house and called the number. the phone in the bar ringed. no answer. we checked the forward notices and it said that the check-in was around 2 o'clock at this time by 3 o'clock. then the boil went for the night after the phone, but he knew nothing about the accommodation side of it. he called the owner who was on the way to adelaide, and we finally got the key to the accommodation. about that. if we have booked this place, it is definitely not what we expected. overall quite average. later at 18.40 clock we went to dinner in the hotel. only one type served at the bar and some people were able to order, but no one was there to command. we were waiting for a bed and thought we were gonna get a table that was not reserved. found a without reserve sign and sat down. my partner then tried to find a menu back on the line. Finally we got one and we decided what we would get. I went to order and the woman who had finally arrived to take the orders went to the bar area to help the one guy who serves a lot of customer drinks. it was a few minutes before she came back. another person jumped in front of me to ask where you were table, and then the woman told them the table number we were sitting on! then she came to me and I asked about the table that had not the reserved sign when we sat there. her answer was that I should get into the bar first as they were fully booked. She also said that she was busy and alone, so it could only do so much. there was no one we could talk to in cash when we arrived. it was certainly not there. serious! total really bad customer service along with a release and care less maintenance. they may be engaged more employees and experienced workers who know how they treat the guests and it is probably not a good idea to unlock their spatialities and open since closing time in the night before! also someone who welcomes guests. or at least one contact via telephone. instead of asking what's going on to the devil is a no-brainer. never again!
To stay a few days in melrose, fell one for a meal and pleasantly surprised by the varied menu and satisfied by the friendly staff, good value, good eating and good service.
Have eaten here twice in the last two months and all of us had brilliant meals and perfect steaks both times and delicious healthy salads to yum! good service, modern rustic pub affordable and great parasols and coworkers. highly recommended
The absolute worst meal I have had. I ordered. North Star Burger. I think the cook did his apprenticeship at On The Run Oodnadatta. The burger was out of a packet , the ‘Steak House’ chips were old BiLo brand. A great project for Gordon...Ramsey methinks. Pity because the dining environment is fantastic
