Bidrage med feedbackI went to SOOK for dinner last Saturday and was impressed by their fantastic offer of a free bottle of wine with orders over $50! I ordered prawn spring rolls, corn pancake, roti, red curry with roast duck, and pad thai. Every dish was delicious! I loved the flavors and portion sizes. The bonus bottle of red wine was also excellent. I can't wait to go back and try more of their dishes.
I absolutely adore this place! The Thai food here is of excellent quality, packed with flavor and offers a wide variety of options. I tried the Green curry and it was amazing! The staff are lovely and even surprised me with a complimentary bottle of house wine for spending $50 and picking up my order. This will definitely become my new favorite Thai restaurant.
I was skeptical of the 3.7 rating on Zomato, but I am glad I didn't let the negative reviews deter me from trying out this restaurant. The setup was impressive, fitting its name as a "restaurant bar" with a long room, a variety of drinks at the bar, high ceilings, rustic decor, dim lighting, and colorful wall art giving it a casual Thai feel. There was even a mural of the late King Bhumibol overseeing the doughnut display cabinet at the entrance, which I found a bit odd but assumed it was a tribute to the Thai culture. We were seated at a table with a clear printed menu and drink list, and despite the waitress initially leaving us to ourselves, I took the initiative to order our wines and meals at the bar. Soon, we were served with delicious Kana Moo Krob and Massaman Beef Curry with Jasberry rice, which was a unique twist that I enjoyed. The dishes were well-presented, generous in portion, and flavorful, earning an 8/10 for the Kana Moo Krob and 9/10 for the tender beef in the curry (although it was a bit too sweet for my liking). Impressed with the food, I had a conversation with one of the owners, Amelia, about the restaurant, the food, and the wine list. I expressed my disbelief in the low Zomato rating and was reassured that they serve good Thai cuisine at reasonable prices. She even treated us to dessert, a gesture that was unexpected but greatly appreciated. I have already booked a table for a dinner with friends next week, as I believe the restaurant deserves a higher rating than the 3.7 it currently has. I am looking forward to trying more of their offerings and wish them success post-COVID-19. In conclusion, don't always trust the negative reviews. Give this restaurant a chance and judge for yourself. See you next week!
Fantastic find in Collingwood- lovely food a nice atmosphere at the venue. The staff were great . The Food was authentic had good flavours and well priced .
Had the green curry fried rice, pad thai, kana moo krob and red curry roast duck. Food came within minutes and the wait staff were super friendly! The red curry roast duck had some surprises of grapes and pineapple with a nice kick of chilli, but could have done with more duck. Standouts were the generous portions of pad thai and green curry fried rice. Overall, great food and would highly recommend
