Bidrage med feedbackI decided to check out this new restaurant that had recently opened in the food district of QV, near Melbourne Central train station. They offer a wide range of Korean dishes and BBQ options on their menu. However, the prices are quite high considering the portion sizes. The quality of the meat may justify the cost, but the flavor was nothing extraordinary. We ordered the pork set, which was presented beautifully on a wooden board shaped like a pig. The BBQ pork had a clean taste, but lacked a smoky or aromatic flavor. Some pieces had too much fat, which was disappointing. The side dishes were a mix of hits and misses. The salad was refreshing and had a nice balance of sweet and sour flavors. The spicy spring onion salad was also delicious, adding a flavorful kick to the BBQ pork. The corn cheese was small and lacking a good cheese pull, but the staff used a blow torch to give it a nice charred finish. The kimchi pancake was decent, although a bit soggy in the middle. The japchae, on the other hand, was amazing with its rich soy flavor and well-seasoned beef. The tteokbokki was a standout, with the perfect cheese pull and addicting gochujang sauce. The rice cakes were soft and chewy, providing a warm and satisfying bite. Overall, it's a great spot to hang out with friends in a cozy and fun atmosphere. I look forward to returning to try their beef, wagyu, and other dishes.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meat - all of the cuts were tender and juicy. Even though the portion sizes seemed small, the generous amount of side dishes provided by the restaurant ensured that I left feeling satisfied. I particularly enjoyed the convenience of having all the sides placed on a lazy Susan for easy sharing. The combo set included pork belly, pork jowl, beef brisket in soy sauce, beef scotch, and chicken thigh. Additionally, rice and tofu stew were also included in the set. Overall, I had a great dining experience trying out different meats and dishes at this Korean BBQ restaurant.
Seorae Galmaegi was quite noisy. It's a great spot for dinner before a night out, as the energetic music sets the perfect mood. We ordered the Pork Set (including pork belly, pork jowl, marinated pork ribs, pork skirt, and spicy pork for $69.00), the Angus Set (featuring brisket roll, beef galbi, beef scotch, beef short rib, and beef bulgogi for $77.00), Ox Tongue (thinly sliced ox tongue served with house sauce for $21.80), and Japchae (stir-fried glass noodles with bulgogi and assorted vegetables for $17.80).
Delicious beautifully presented food, great ambiance, Korean music playing in the background and variety of options from the menu. Loved our Korean BBQ and will definitely be back!
I've tried a lot of korean BBQ places in Melbourne and @seoraemelb has got to be one of the best. Definitely making this place my go-to for KBBQ ⠀Food: 4/5⠀Service: 4.2/5⠀Ambience: 4/5 ⠀
