Bidrage med feedbackWe didn't have a reservation, but the staff gladly set up a table for us. They had excellent knowledge of wines and made great food suggestions. This was the best Italian food we've had in Melbourne. The staff was also very friendly.
The Peppe pizza at this restaurant on Lonsdale Street near the theatres was absolutely delicious! Topped with mozzarella, potatoes, pancetta, blue cheese, and rosemary, it was the perfect size for sharing between two at lunchtime. Overall, a fantastic dining experience.
My partner and I dined here on a Saturday night before going to the ballet. We were slightly pressed for time having only an hour to eat. However, the food was very quick and allowed us to eat at a comfortable pace. The service was traditional Italian service which made the restaurant feel authentic.Between the two of us we ordered the medium cured meat platter (which was a very generous serve of 4 different types of meats), a capricciosa pizza and the large malloreddus pasta. This was a very generous serve for two people and despite not having had lunch that day, we were still struggling to finish the meal. The pizza was a very delicious however it was the pasta that was the most impressive dish. The flavours and balance of the sauce was perfect and left us thinking about it long after we left.To accompany the meal we both had a glass of Grotta Rossa Sardinian wine which was a lovely full bodied easy drinking wine. The restaurant also partners up with Liven and the Entertainment Book which makes it really good value but after dining we also were offered a vip card which gives us 20% off every time we visit. The meal costs us $80 (inclusive of tip) and was definitely well worth the money.A fantastic restaurant if going to the theatre as it is only a short distance away.
I when for lunch yesterday here I get pasta dish was cold Tasteless. just run my day i was starving for rest of the day at work. Never again.
We had a pre-theatre dinner here and the restaurant was not particularly full. The food was good although a bit on the expensive side. We shared a calamari entree and side salad both of which were very nice. For mains, one of us had pizza the other two the gnocchi (entree size) both of which were fine. However, the meal was made uncomfortable by a saxophone player who walked up and down the restaurant making music so loud it was almost impossible to have a conversation. When he finally finished they then turned on music again incredibly loud. We could not contemplate dessert as we found the noise too much. Service was OK and they tried hard to persuade us to come again.
