Ivanhoe Fish & Chip Shop - Melbourne

There are many very good fish and chip places in Ivanhoe and the wider area and we have tried most over the past 14 years. This would be our favourite and has been for a long time. The owners are friendly and it is always a pleasure to chat with them and get a warm greeting upon entering the shop. The food, especially the steak sandwiches, is excellent. The family packs are great value and our grandchildren often can't quiet finish what we order for them. The fish is cooked to perfection, the batter just right and the vegetable oil not noticeable. We generally alternate our choice about once a month when we want something quick and tasty can't be bothered cooking. It can get a little busy depending upon the time and the day but well worth the extra wait involved.

Horrible service. Ordered 5 pumpkin fritters and waited 40 minutes to be told they didn't have any left. Won't be back again.

The area is blessed with good F&C shops and this is one of them. It is very easy to park nearby. Their menu is very extensive and the food is freshly cooked. The service is very friendly.
