Bidrage med feedbackThis was a welcome refuge after taking the Flower Trail in Parque Arvi a few kilometers walk, with a steep climb. It is Colombiano tipico, grilled meat and traditional dishes ... I chose Sancocho, a traditional stew with chicken, choclo (Ande Mais on the cob, potatoes, casava and spices. The waitress brought a good big portion with lots of chicken, and Tipico side dishes: avocado, fried plano, an arepa, salad and rice. It was delicious. One of us had the grilled trout and said it was wonderful! It is an open-air restaurant, with a white corrugated fiber glass roof easily recognizable on Google Earth pictures, and just a few meters from the ride to the entrance to Parque Arvi. They cook over a wooden fire, also for the large one-pot pots of Sancocho. I recommend this to anyone looking for a good lunch after hiking on the highlands of Parque Arvi. (I say cheaply eat, downstairs because my meal was 15,000 Colombian pesos, the $5 US, as this font. To get a meal for $5 in the USA, you have to cook it yourself!
The best thing about this park is the Metro sky lift to reach the park. The park itself is small but very nice. Admission is free but there is a fee for the forest tour which may be very interesting but we did not take. There are many plants and flowers and a few exhibits. We ate at an excellent, inexpensive restaurant across the street from the opposite side of the park from the entrance. I highly recommend visiting.
Gorgeous vibes and view if you are into natural environments, it offers places that can take you more than a day to enjoy them all. The only challenging part is that it doesn't have proper landmark or signs to guide tourist going on their own (not in a tour), being necessary to ask constantly people from the surroundings where to go.
This was a welcome refuge after taking the "Flower Trail" in Parque Arvi - a few kilometers of hiking, with a steep uphill finish. It's "Colombiano tipico," grilled meats and traditional dishes ... We did a private tour in English with Veronica and it was one of our favorite things in Medellin. The park is absolutely beautiful. Veronica is very knowledgeable and such a great guide. There are excellent little snack spots. We can't wait to go back.
