Bidrage med feedbackIn Medellín, about opposite the Oviedo Mall is one of the best hotels in the city, the San Fernando Plaza. With several levels, each reached by escalators or elevators, each offers wells or sculptures at each landing, there are interesting shops and kiosks on different levels....Inputting the hotel from one of several entries, the lobby is elegant and spacious and done in marble. I'd like to stay here. On the 8th floor there is Restaurante Spezia, around the corner of the elevators. Sporty tablecloths and napkins, this elegant dining area is also spacious, with comfortable upholstery or benches, fresh water is immediately poured onto the table from a pitcher with cut apples. Our visit was in the middle of the day for lunch. The waiter is quick to recommend the buffet that seems to have chosen over everyone. I have seen some kind of cream soup, beef ribs, chickens in the sauce and some kind of rice with meat and vegetables. A tempting fresh salad bar is located around the corner of the main buffet. A frozen dessert was then served. For about $7.00 this must be the best bargains in the city. I decided to eat easily from the menu and ordered wonderful Mussels Provencal. The sauce was filled with chopped onions and peppers, served with roasted French bread, which I sown every piece of sauce. Bottom line: A great hotel, luxurious restaurant for a bargain hunter. That and Gris will be our favorite-Medellin restaurants.
Enjoy the in-house lunch buffet every week with various types of food from many countries. The staff is top shelf without coming short, it is not cheap, but it is worth it.
My wife and I have eaten regularly in this beautiful restaurant on the Golden Mile of Medellin. We moved out of the area a few years ago, but had shops in the city last week, so we have the opportunity to dine in one of our favorite restaurants... in the city of Eternal Spring . We were guests at Hotel San Fernando Plaza and Spezia located on the 8th floor of the hotel. So it was not a brainse for us to enjoy all three meals in this jewel of a restaurant. In May Spezia participates in the gourmet dietary month... this is a city wide promotion to stimulate the interest in Medellin as a gastronomic destination. Spezia offers a special menu and prices for selected meals this month long event. (65,000 pesos for entree, appetizer, dessert and a glass of wine. My wife and I used this opportunity to enjoy an eclectic spectrum of fine cuisine during our short stay at the hotel. All dishes reflect a twist of elegant French cuisine. Each meal is prepared with a full of DC. Patience is necessary as the kitchen performs its magic, but I can guarantee that the somewhat longer than normal waiting time it is worth. The restaurant benefits from the talents of a French-trained, highly talented young chef and a dining room staff who expresses the importance of gastronomic elegance. Pig, fish and fowl dishes are prepared in the old-fashioned way... slowly cooked and provincial. The various dishes we enjoyed were baked pig bones, roasted chicken legs, filled chicken roach and Fish Crocante. Each guest was garned with fresh baked vegetables or vegan caseroles. Every meal was unforgettable, and every bite was a taste of elegance. The maitre d's, Cesar and Daniela are on their game and very knowledgeable when it comes to the fine kitchen. In combination with a very professional waiting staff, they provide a truly pleasant, unforgettable culinary experience. The gourmet breakfast bar, which is served as part of our hotel package, was also exceptional. Although the menu at Spezia may not be considered to be accurate, in the overall system of things, the prices of this fine gourmet cuisine represents an incredible value, IMHO. Expect to pay anywhere between 35,000 80,000 pesos (starters, drinks, desserts and tips for an unforgettable lunch or dinner. The good news: Spezia will resume his gourmet lunch buffet for 36,000 pesos per person from 1 June... one of the best bargains in the city. Expect to enjoy live entertainment during lunch. Spezia is highly recommended as a Ess-Bucket-list article if in the city Medellin.
Restaurante Spezia (Medellin, Colombia) is located in the eight floor of the Hotel San Fernando Plaza along La Milla de Oro (the golden mile) of the exclusive El Poblado neighborhood. The restaurant 's modern and elegant decoration matches the hotel 's contemporary architecture. Their menu offers a...wide selection of delicious dishes and wines that will satisfy most of their guests. The flavors, presentation and service restaurante Spezia provides makes them a must place to stop by when looking for fine dinning in Medellin.
I enjoyed a gourmet lunch this past week at one of the finer restaurants on Medellin's Golden Mile. I was invited by a friend to join him for lunch at Restaurante Spezia, located on the second floor of Hotel San Fernando Plaza. Restaurante Spezia is...tastefully appointed and is appropriate for either a business luncheon or a more intimate evening meal with someone special. Outside dining is available on an enclosed patio. Wines and alcoholic beverages are also available. My friend suggested that we try Spezia's weekday buffet special. Spezia specializes in international fusion cuisine. The luncheon buffet is an excellent representation of the restaurant's capacity for producing outstanding fusion dishes. Lunch started out with a bowl of delicious minestrone soup. The soup was both rich and refreshing. The soup was followed by a mixture of marinated. vegetables including mushrooms, zucchini and eggplant. The zucchini in particular was remarkably delicious. My friend and I sampled the remainder of the buffet which included ginger pork, chicken with ham rolls, delicious baked mashed potatoes and sautéed fresh vegetables. All of the above were superbly prepared. The table setting are elegant and include white linen. The staff is very attentive, and the chef makes the effort to visit each table at least once to make sure the meal is up to the restaurant's gourmet standards. Lunch is topped off with various desserts. I tried a chocolate mousse tort which was decorated with light crème and cookies. Like the rest of the meal, the dessert was top shelf. The most pleasant surprise of this experience was the bill. The cost of this gourmet feast was a mere 18,000 pesos $9.50 US) each including service fee and tax). I highly recommend giving the Spezia gourmet lunch buffet a try when in Medellin. You better believe that I will be spending a few lunch times at this buffet line!
