Le Mistral - McLean

Mistral has a new chef and it shows. I have eaten there dozens of times over the years, and it is definitely now a real contender for top restaurant in Northern VA. The service is professional, and unparalleled in the area. The chef is doing creative French cuisine, fresh an elegant but not intimidating. A nicely varied menu for fish lovers and meat lovers, and do not miss the appetizers: the three chilled soups are a standout, the ravioli is spectacular and can be ordered as a dinner if you ask, and the smoked salmon is super.
