El Nuevo Oasis - Mayagueez

Why all hatred? This place is great. El Nuevo Oasis is a classic restaurant specializing in pizza and criollo. We were looking for a restaurant that could let us eat in 30 minutes. So we called El Nuevo Oasis, and in 20 minutes they had our food ready. Surprisingly fast. I admit, I was worried that it wasn't so good after reading some of the last reviews. But we loved it. It was great, especially the Mofongo, that was exquisite. Overall, I thought it was good. Do not be fooled by the negative reviews, this place is good. It has bad days, sure. But I would have earned a second visit. Just make sure to keep the entrance in the eye, as it is easy to miss.

The food is good, could use a little bit more flavor. Mofongo is delicious. Good environment and overall good service. The place is clean but it’s a little bit outdated. Feels more like a cafeteria than a restaurant. Side note: we went looking for nachos, which they promoted in their facebook page 4 hours earlier before we arrived. We couldn’t find the nachos in the menu so we asked the waiter. She had no idea why they had posted the promo for the nachos since they were none available and it isn’t even on the menu.

Food was good but, they took too long eve though we called for a surtido ahead of time.
