Bidrage med feedbackIn Matera (MT in the Sasso Caveoso district there is a large shop inside a Cave House dug into the tuff, in which a cistern for collecting water is still visible; here they also offer tastings of typical products on sale such as taralli, bran peppers, various types of sauces and jams, oil and local wines and countless types of pasta (cavatelli, strascinate etc. and much more.
I became addicted to wine preserve biscuits. The sellers are really warm and friendly.
Overrated, similar place next door, with fewer crowds, clearly superior.
A small museum in the heart of the Sassi of Matera, the place left us speechless, while the products made our mouths water. Its vast selection of local produce, from olive oil to delicacies of cured meats and cheeses, truly captures the essence of the area's culinary tradition. The welcoming and knowledgeable staff make the shopping experience a pleasure, offering passionate advice and ensuring a genuine immersion in the local gastronomic culture. An unmissable place for lovers of regional excellence. The charm of this shop reaches its peak thanks to its unique environment: located in an ancient cave house, the place exudes history and authenticity. Crossing its stone walls and discovering the union between tradition and modernity is an experience similar to a fascinating journey through time. The museum atmosphere adds a special touch, transforming the visit into a complete immersion in Matera's rich cultural heritage. Furthermore, I would like to point out that their online shop service is highly effective. The ease of navigation of the site, the rapid processing of orders and the care taken in the packaging of the products ensure an online shopping experience that is just as satisfying as a visit to the store. All of which makes this typical products shop in Matera an excellent choice for anyone who wants to bring home the authentic taste of the region.
Taking part in a tour in the Sassi of Matera, during the Immaculate Conception weekend, I stopped in this store selling typical products in the heart of the Sassi. Feeling peckish at the moment allowed me to taste the delight of local products expertly prepared by the staff. I was also struck by the location which fully reflects the ancient homes of the local tradition. The cave setting of the entire place is truly evocative and the staff who welcomed me with attention and precision were very kind. We'll be back, highly recommended.
