Bidrage med feedbackPho was not hot enough. The rice spring roll was not fresh. Service was not friendly. Should have tried the pho place in the neighboring mall instead.
I go to Pho 99 for a quick pho craving fix which is usually one to two times a week. It's run by a hard working family and you can expect minimal service. The pho presentation is a notch above average and as is the broth. It's by no means the best I've had (and I've had a lot) but well flavoured and good enough to keep me coming back for my quick pho fixes. At the table, you'll find menus, an ordering paper with pen, a full stack of utensils including sauce dishes and sauces (sriracha (not Huy Fong unfortunately), hoisin, and garlic chili sauce), and napkins. 3 stars 1 for consistency and respect for the hard working family.
Fresh rolls had a funky taste, like the meat was old.All our dishes had dry hard chicken or pork, like it had been sitting on a counter all day long. The lettuce that came with our rice dishes were old and some were wilting and brown.Pho soup was bland. Vermicelli noodles were stiff and dry.
Food portions is on par for the price nowadays (except for cheap cuts like the grilled pork is 2 thin pieces) so low rating is for very poor customer service. Firstly, there was only 2 other tables so the place wasn't busy considering there were at least 2 people on duty (not counting a 3rd who was busy doing prep). The 2 people were constantly just chatting and not checking customers so we had to bring the order up to them. Asked to have the veggies blanched and she forgot that. We tried to wave for the bill and a takeout box but again, those 2 busy chatting and never looked up so we went up to the counter again. If this is the level of service for an almost empty restaurant, then imagine what it's like if they're busy. They both gave me a side eye when I asked for takeout box. When the bill came, one of the dishes was charged $18, whereas the menu said $16. She said the pamphlet is marked $18 and the menu is incorrect. Then she proceeded to take whiteout and crossed off the price in the menu book. So if you're ordering here, don't accept the prices in the menu book as they will refuse to accept their error. She insisted on the $18 price even though it was their error. Not coming back here again and definitely wouldn't recommend this place. For the price, you'll get better service and quality food elsewhere.
Shrimp chicken cold rolls-looms like they put enuf shrimp but it's only slivers and chicken inside was dry and tough. Mango salad was ok and the service was ok.
