Bidrage med feedbackOne of my friend's decided to celebrate a joint bday dinner here w/ his gf because he had constantly heard excellent things about this place from me (and all our friends who tried this place after I spread the gospel . We came to dine in on saturday night during Good Friday weekend. I mistakenly called Elias by the wrong name in my previous review (called him Chris; sorry for that haha . He served my family and I on my last visit and he was the server once again on this visit, and he REMEMBERED ME from my bday dinner in Jan! This time he had an older gentleman, Ben helping him out (who apparently used to be his boss over at a different resto in the past but came to work at Peter's out of boredom! Service was so impeccable from these two the whole night. I can tell they've been in the service industry a long time. Funny, professional and extreme attention to detail. You know we had to get tableside ceasar salad for the whole table (we were running 10 ppl deep . The ceasar salad is the ultimate masterpiece here. A MUST ORDER. Elias is a pro, we timed him last time and we timed him again on this occasion. The man spends 15 min every time making the damn sauce (stirring and mixing ingredients . You know how tough that is to do in a suit jacket? I can't even sit still for 1 hr at a wedding in a suit. And MANNNN the salad is SOOO GOOD. The lil kick from the mustard powder and tabasco is incredible (it's just the right amount so it's not too spicy either . A bunch of us ordered drinks. I've had the whiskey sour (which I liked and the planter's punch (which I didn't like on past visits, so this time I opted for an old fashioned. It was well balanced and not too strong which I really enjoyed. I'm used to old fashioneds tasting really coiled on the whiskey hit but this was SMOOOOOOTH as hell. Also, I said it in my previous reviews and I'll say it again ... I haven't found a steak in the GTA region that beats the 24 oz bone-in ribeye at Peter's. Insane sear/crust around the entire steak, perfect doneness (I'm amazed that I've never had to send a steak back even though they would do it w/ a smile without hesitation and the meat is seasoned to perfection. AND IT'S ACTUALLY A NICE THICK 24 oz BIG BOI (I've seen steakhouses claim 24 oz on the menu and cheat the customer . For dessert, Elias was kind enough to split the bananas foster for 3 of us (it's supposed to be for 2 ppl so he added extra sauce and ice cream to accommodate the 3rd person as well. When putting the finishing touch with the flame pour, he did it without hand protection! I asked him how he's able to do it without feeling a burning sensation on his hand and he just chuckled. I think he's made it so many times that all the nerves in his fingers are just numb at this point LOL. I think the price rose again since my last visit (BIG sad face and yea we all had flies flying out of our wallets after the meal but for a special occasion this place has NEVER disappointed me. The most important thing is my friends all enjoyed their evening (including the bday boy and girl ! I don't write updated reviews a lot for many restos on Yelp but this place holds a special place in my heart. TOP 5 resto in my books and I will go toe-to-toe to defend this opinion w/ anyone. I don't think I will ever have a bad experience here.
Excellent service every time! Food is delicious. Go to is always caesar salad (made to order at tableside!!! and prime rib.
A cozy homey steakhouse filled with warm décor and kiss memorabilia. It's an expensive meal for a special occasion. Caesar Salad Must get! They do it tableside, so it's a show and its tasty! Crunchy croutons, creamy, cheesy, lemony all combined together with some crunchy romaine lettuce! French Onion Soup overly salty. Hints of red wine cheesy ness, but would not recommend Bacon wrapped Scallops Bacon was overcooked and not crispy, but the scallops were cooked nicely. The cream sauce that it came with was too salty, but can be someone balanced with the accompanied lemon. Would also steer away from this. Sole fish Almandine crust was good, added a nutty sweetness to the fish. Fish itself was disappointing would not recommend getting the sole fish as it was rather lacking in flavour. Vegetables that came along with the fish was nice, lightly seasoned with butter was a nice touch. Tomahawk steak A tough steak to cook, but it was cooked well at medium rare. Opposite to the previous dishes, I wished the steak was seasoned a bit more. It came with a gravy and bearnaise sauce where I preferred neither of them. Gravy was not seasoned well, and bearnaise sauce was too much like a horseradish. Might go for a ribeye cooked rare next time, more meat. Crème Brulee A rather unique take with a nice custard at the bottom and rough torched sugar at the top. The roughness gives it an interesting texture, but I still prefer the flat smooth surface. Would try some other desserts instead. Cherry jubilee ice cream Flambéed table side for a good show. The syrup was heavy with alcohol, but when eaten with ice cream, it was delicious. My only gripe with this was that the ice cream was too melt by the time the desert was prepared, not to mentioned the burning liquid was being poured onto the ice cream. Looking forward to try the other tableside prepared dessert.
Amazing little restaurant on Highway 7, I've been here a few times and the service and steaks here are simply excellent! The ambiance is great, feels very homie and warm, servers are all very friendly and polite The Peters cut is my favourite steak here, it's 24 oz! Very juicy and flavourful, highly recommend the Peters cut along with their Caesar salad. Came here on my birthday and they gave our party chocolate cake and roses for us to take home, high recommend
I'm a steak snob. I travel around the world eating steaks. This place is very solid and will be a part of my Toronto rotation. Had the oysters rockerfeller (pass on these, too heavy and not that great. Although big), tableside Cesar salad (excellent and big portion), and medium rare bone in ribeye (perfectly cooked with an excellent sear. Good thing is the has great edge to edge doneness with very little grey zone). The free Gaelic bread was ample and delicious. Pickles and olives were nice. One tip, if you share a steak they do charge a $10 sharing fee. These guys know what they are doing. Bravo.
