Taverna Petsas - Maries

Maries is a very small village, the tavern is in the small square, the tables are outdoors and you eat under the trees. The owner Eleni is very kind, you eat traditional Greek cuisine, prepared as you would cook at home, all seasoned with the excellent oil produced in Thassos. On one occasion I ate baked aubergines with feta, Keftedes and mixed salad, all excellent. On another occasion I ate gyros, which I didn't find exciting, perhaps due to the meat being too fatty. Good food, nice people. We had the chance of listening authentic local people singing, on a Saturday night, excellent atmosphere, beautiful people! Parking: Small spot at the bottom of the stairs, but usually enough for 2-3 cars visiting. One of the most beautiful parts of Thassos, anyone who wants to live real moments of old Thassos and eat well....it is worth going and listening to authentic music

Had to go here as it was an enforced Tui stop from going to Ypsarion. Didnt get to see the menu and therefore just had a drink which was ok.
