Bidrage med feedbackWe stayed at this restaurant for our last night on the Cabot Trail, as there were no other options in town. The waitress, who also served as the receptionist, was excellent - friendly, efficient, and helpful with recommendations. I ordered a scallop appetizer, which was delicious despite the small portion size. The salad was also very good. My pasta pomodoro was tasty and well-prepared, though the portion size was a bit smaller than I would have liked. The chicken dish was tasty but a bit too salty. Overall, the desserts and coffee were very good.
We were staying a couple miles away in a rental house, and it was the closest restaurant, so we decided to give it a try. Glad we did. The dining room is beautiful, with two walls of windows, so nicely lit in the early evening. The menu had a nice selection, especially seafood. I had scallops and mussels. Both were excellent. My family had salmon and pasta. Those were good, but not exceptional. Service was very friendly. Prices were what you would expect for fine cuisine, not bad at all. It was a very pleasant experience and I would return if I was in the area.
The restaurant provided tasty meals and easily accommodated my gluten-free diet. The lodge and cabins had a rustic charm and were very comfortable. I enjoyed having highland cattle, horses, and a donkey on the property. The nightly musician played various instruments and taught a Gaelic song each evening. They also hosted barn dances on Wednesdays. Excitingly, Ashley McIsaac will be performing in August for fans of Celtic music.
We booked a room in the Inn. Arrived late and went to bed. My wife woke me up telling me something crawled over her arm.Turned on the light and did not see anything. Turned off the light but within a minute we could hear little foot steps. Turned on the light t see a mouse sitting on the dresser. We had to change room at 1AM. The other place seems unused for a while since spider webs had to be removed. We where expecting to get it free for the inconvenience but instead we had free breakfast that was not worth eating. The room was prepaid so we could not do anything about it. We left a message at the reception for the manager to call us but as of yet we are still waiting.
We stayed in a cabin for two nights and used it as a home base for exploring the area. Although we dined out for other meals, we did have breakfast at the Inn. The service was excellent throughout our stay, and the French Toast made with their homemade oat bread was a delicious way to begin the day.
