This coffeehouse is located in the beautiful Wettergasse in the heart of Oberstadt, between the pile of small shops and coffeehouses. I was recently walking in Oberstadt with a couple of friends and we spontaneously decided to get a little bit cozy and have a coffee together. The first impression of the place is really good. It's a spacious coffeehouse, decorated with modern paintings and warm colors. I liked the marble pattern on the tables. We ordered Late Machiatto, Milkcoffee with slides of chocolate and cheese-Almond tart (Käsemandel-Tarte) cakes. The prices are almost similar to other cafés in this area and you should expect that a normal coffee with a slide of cake would cost between 7€ and 8€. By way conclusion, I would say the staff at the front desk could be a little more friendly but if you're wandering in Oberstadt and looking for a nice place to have coffee, you should consider checking this place out. I would do again.
I had the pleasure to taste the Pistachio-Cream tart at Café Klingelhöfer recently. This is how a pistachio tart should taste: Well balanced tastes of pistachio combined with a fluffy cream, not to sweet, covered with a delicious Marzipan layer. Next to this highlight a friendly service and the cosy ambient of the café itself completed my visit.
A little coffee break, we thought. And because you can sit so beautifully in the middle of the pedestrian zone, we let ourselves down. In the 4th and 5th generation, the confectionery is operated with cafe in the Marburg pedestrian zone. The family-run company offers beside pastries and ice cream, cakes and cakes, chocolates and truffles also breakfast and a changing lunch table. We hardly sat, the neighboring tables were also occupied. Delicious! What was opened, very tasty. A small birthday party of an older man was celebrated there. No, we didn't sing – only congratulated. The friendly staff even brought a candle for the anniversary. Super nice service. We were with 2 cups of coffee (2 x 2,60€ incl. Water and a pack of chocolate to take away. The guest room is relatively large for a café. One floor deeper there are other seating and a small balcony with magnificent views over Marburg. The toilets are still another floor deeper. Everything clean, but not suitable for people with disabilities.
The best New York cheesecake in Marburg!
