Porky's Bayside And Marina - Marathon

Good homemade chips, shrimp sandwich and view of the marina and sunbathing pelicans.

We ordered brisket and they brought us shredded brisket that looked like pulled pork. We were confused and asked what they brought us (we’ve never seen shredded brisket served ANYWHERE before) and the waitstaff were confused and couldn’t answer our question. It took quite a bit of back and forth to establish that the shredded meat they brought us was actually brisket. Unsurprisingly, it was substantially worse than “normal” sliced brisket, and it was quite expensive. We also tried their “famous” fried key lime pie and found it to be gross. I am a fan of all things key lime pie and all things fried, but this tasted strongly of old stale cooking oil caked on the outside of a still frozen solid slice of mediocre key lime pie. It was truly disgusting. We also tried the homemade hush puppies appetizer and found them to be bland and lackluster as well. The side of macaroni and cheese was okay, and the mashed potatoes were instant potatoes and very dry. Overall we didn’t love any of the food that we received and for that we would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The atmosphere was very colorful and fun though, and they were right one the water which was neat. If you are only interested in drinks this might be a better bet.

Very good food party of 7 fairly quick service on a very busy night. music was soft and not overpowering with a singer of hi caliber. We all enjoyed the evening.

Great place for easy dining while in Marathon. Lots of food options and all (5) of our meals were well received. Great atmosphere w/ live music. The place was packed upon our arrival, yet we were seating within 5 minutes and immediately had our waitress catering to our needs. Food came out fast and hot. Highly recommend for laid back dining atmosphere.
