Bidrage med feedbackUpon entry you find a very small yet lovely dining room with three tables of four seats and a chef's bar with seating for four. The cherry blossom trees (artificial) are a nice touch. Menu looks great! Ordered Asahi beer and the server brought me saki. The language barriers are probably the issue but it was resolved just fine. Ordered two pieces Unagi, Spivey tuna cone hand roll and soft shell crab roll. Presentation was really good on all the food. The rice under the Unagi was not packed tight enough and the pieces fell apart when attempting to pick up. Flavor of the eel was excellent. Overall a good dish but could have been great. Spicy Tuna hand roll was stunning! Loaded with copious amounts of tuna and complimented by nice crunchy cucumber sticks. The Spider role did not disappoint. Flavor was spot on. The egg roe on top was a nice touch. Crab was deep fried fresh. I was pleased to wait the time required to cook it and the server warned of high temperature so not to burn mouth. Only critique of the restaurant was the unnecessary music from local radio station that went from soft rock to disco to rap. This should be discontinued immediately in my opinion.
This used to be our favorite sushi place in Maple Ridge. Unfortunately it 's switched owners and the quality of food and service is declining at a fast rate. We ordered last night and had it delivered. We received spicy miso soup instead of our ordered regular miso, the rice was quite mushy and overcooked, the tobiko nigiri eggs tasted not fresh and the insides of the rolls were over filled with mayo. My husband called to let them know about our experience and was told you 're wrong . The sushi was actually so poor we threw out most of it. I cannot believe that they hung up on us and told us the customer is wrong. We will never go back!
My second favorite sushi spot in Maple Ridge. Love the purple rice. I often go here for a solo lunch or dinner before doing my groceries! I like to take out my food more than eating in. Often smells quite fishy.
First time here. Immediately greeted by a warm friendly staff. I sat myself. This is definitely a small intimate place. Nice. They have so many special things to try like the Spotted prawn sushi which I didn't see till after. They have pieces of paper taped to the wall advertising various specials. Ugh I wish I had looked around first before ordering. I ordered the Red Dragon roll and spicy agedashi. Ok the red dragon roll was excellent as indicated by one of the yelp reviewers on here. Thank you for recommending that. Huge, delicious, not stick to your tongue spicy. It comes and it goes. Beautifully presented with a nice panko crunchy topping. Excellent flavours. I love that they took the time to cut the tails off the prawn tempura which was rolled into this entree. Most places that have these types of rolls don't. Lazy in my opinion. Now to the spicy agedashi tofu. As we all know tofu has no taste as it is and this dish was no different. Unfortunately this didn't score well with me. I had a few pieces and stopped. The spicy sauce that it was sitting in made the tofu breading way too mushy too quickly. And it had no flavour. I was disappointed. However, everyone deserves a second chance and being that I am a generous individual I want to give them that. So I will be back and I will try other things and let you folks know how it turns out. Ciao for now.
Friendliest sushi bar in town. Always consistent and quick service. Love these people A must try if you enjoy sushi
