Sloop Tavern - Maltkiln Lane

Picked up 6 Muppets at the Sloop they made me wait 15 minutes and got me deactivated from UBER by falsely accusing me of being impaired.

We just happened to be passing by this little hole in the wall tavern and decided a beer sounded pretty good for 10:30 in the evening. So we went in. A comfortable amount of people gathered around the two pool tables and a few on bar stools. We waited for someone to serve us. About five minutes later a gal comes out of the restroom not looking to happy at the sight of us. She barked out “Closing in 10 minutes”. So I got her attention and asked asked for a pitcher of Elysian Hazy ‘96 (great selection of tap beers here). She told me I have 5 minutes to finish it. I said “I’ll drink it fast enough, but slow enough to enjoy it.” She just smirked…no Hello, kiss my A …nothing. I guess by the mood she was in, she just about had enough for the night. 2 pints a piece and we were out of there in eight minutes. I don't think she even notice that we didn't leave a tip. She didn't come running down the street for us. On any other night, I think this tavern has the right crowd and cozy ambiance about it. Didn't have time for any grub fare. We’llcome by a little earlier next time. I wonder why they close at 11?

Awful customer service. Wouldn’t give me a takeout order because I had my daughter in a carrier. Was very rude about it. I live close by absolutely never going here.

It's a dive and it's awesome! Plenty of characters and great taps.

First time visit to Sloop and the vibe took me back to my fave bar in SF, House of Shields (with an extra hundred years history) I will return to check out the bar scene Tried the fish and chips and hamburger and both were delicious The fish was fresh and the tempura batter was crusty My pooch loved the halibut The chips were plentiful and unsalted which I very much appreciated The hamburger had grilled onions which lent a wonderful sweetness The potato salad was superb and an incredibly generous portion The bartender was friendly and efficient Will return
