Oliveto - MALCESINE

Eaten all meals here and will be doing so for the next week (including breakfast as it is also now a hotel with beautiful rooms and views over lake Garda). The menu is extensive and the food absolutely gorgeous. Erica (the owner) is extremely attentive and remembers our favourites and the kitchen will change and make everything we want. The homemade gnocchi is out of this world and the crema catalana beats everything, both in taste and portion size. Perfect location for staying and eating if you are coming for sailing events at Fraglia Vela Malcesine.

The grassed olive grove behind is lovely for quiet eating with a lake view. The specialities include pasta with truffles (when available) and this was delicious. With only one waitress to manage 20 tables, it's easy to be overlooked, especially if you don't know enough Italian to attract attention be considered important. Better service would immediately raise the score to 4 or 5 stars!

Nice, casual lunch spot. Lots of tables spaced out in a little garden behind the hotel with a view of lake Garda. Would be perfect for a simple casual daytime meal or family lunch. Pizzas were ace- very reasonably priced and nice thin crusts, my husband had one and I was a little jealous! We shared a delicious fassona beef tartAre as well decent sized portion of knife chopped fassona and really nicely seasoned, very very good, not sure why it came with bbq sauce but ate it all regardless) I had a carbonara for myself as a hangover remedy. OverAll a very nice simple casual lunch spot, wine list is extremely limited but who cares at lunch time and service nice and friendly. Subtracting a star due to the ugly caravan parked next to the garden which spoilt the view a little , would still go Back fir those pizzas any day though
