Tenka Japanese Shabu Shabu - Makati

I can say that my Tenka experience was the first real appreciation of hotpot for me. I have always preferred grilling over soups. Choice-wise, you can order all you want from their hotpot menu. It's different from Tong Yang where the menu is served on the buffet table. This way, it retains cleanliness in serving the food. So we chose Satay and Miso soup. But we liked Satay more. You can ask for more satay paste if you feel it lacking to your taste. Then we poured in all the meat, vegetables, seafood and hotpot balls. Prepped our own sauce, had some rice and voila! Lunch was served. It was truly filling! To add, the price of Php550/pax for lunch will get you 1 free entree. My choice was the Salmon Sashimi. It was ok. Not the top quality though. My mom and her friend ordered yakitori sticks and they were quite tough. The service was great. Very attentive and courteous. The place was good. Spacious. The choice of soups and meats was really good. Everything you can think of to be cooked in a hotpot restaurant was in the menu. The main problem I encountered was with the servers. It was so hard to get their attention and they keep forgetting about our orders and requests and after an hour or two at the place it gets very warm which makes it difficult to stay.

The first time I saw this restaurant; I was like wow, the place was so beautiful and relaxing. as the venue has dim lights making this place romantic ... ???? But when we got our order, my good impression of this place changed. It took the servants a few minutes to bring our food. It takes time to bring our water. It looks like they aren't that attentive when it comes to serving their customers ... I would prefer to eat hot saucepan in four seasons. Sad to say but it's true. ????

Let me start by saying that I have previously owned a shabu shabu resto, so trust me on this I know my hotpot. The meat is not so good, mostly fats, and the lamb is absolute garbage nowhere near fresh.   The broth is so tasteless and there is no quality in it.  The items they serve here is very poor, especially meat and seafood.  Any place will serve fresh veggies, but cannot serve horrendous meat.  My favorite item here was ice cream. Avoid.
