Bidrage med feedbackMy significant other and I took a stroll during half term in Sutton Valence and stopped for lunch at this charming pub. The staff were incredibly welcoming and the local cuisine was delicious. They even provided our muddy and disheveled dog with his own bowl and treats. We will definitely return when the weather is nicer.
We stopped for Sunday lunch with a group of 8 people at this pub. We ordered 2 starters - tomato soup and a mushroom starter - but unfortunately, they took over 30 minutes to arrive and were cold when they did. This experience left us feeling disappointed, as it shouldn't be difficult to heat up soup properly. On a positive note, the pub allows vaping.
The restaurant has a beautiful garden and offers a great selection at the bar. The staff are friendly and welcoming. We are gradually trying different items on the menu, all of which are delicious and made with locally sourced ingredients, including vegetables from the pub's own garden. I highly recommend giving this place a try.
The weather was cold, rainy, very windy and then sunny. All that was missing was snow, but the opportunity to enjoy a pub lunch was not to be missed although venturing into the open garden was a no-no.The large marquee gave us adequate protection from wind and rain but apparently restrictions insist 2 sides must be completely open so the heaters had no chance of raising the temperature very much. We didn't care, and the staff did everything they could to make us comfortable. We enjoyed a good lunch, great beers and red wine.Fine memory of the Queens Head.
Absolutely delicious hand made pizzas and really well kept local real ale from a lovely village pub. Can't wait for The Queens Head to open again post-covid19 so we can have a proper night out in a proper pub like this one again.
