Picnic Bay Hotel - Magnetic Island

Pub that is not served eating. what a sweat! to stay in the picnic bay we thought we would go for a pub meal only to discover no meal on a Tuesday night. so many people who arrive for a feed and go away disappointed.

Loved the atmosphere of this old bar, sat outside and watched the world over. as with everywhere on the island, this is missing from employees a problem and with only one person serving everyone, you had to be patient while waiting to be served. but if they are. their holidays have time to wait. we haven't eaten there so we can't comment. beautiful place.

We were served by rude staff at the food store. there were only three (overpriced) options on the menu, each of which was quite average. I wouldn't come to dinner again.

The personal was beautiful and the grilled seafood plate was perfect and a good value for money. we shared it between 2 people for lunch. the children loved to watch the fish tank and all the different species of fish.

Surprised at first that I was unable to get drinks unless I paid cash. Fortunately I had some on me, so was able to buy us some lemonade. Hubby lined up at the counter for a 15-minute wait to order lunch. After 20 minutes or...so, I was brought a beef burger which I stated was not mine as I had ordered a Fishermans Basket, so that was taken and my hubby got his BLAT. Almost a half hour later I finally got my basket. and they also demanded another $6 The fish was so small it was the size of a prawn. I had 5 strips of Calamari, three prawns and ONE scallop and a handful of chips all swimming in tons of salt. I like to add my own salt. I could barely eat any of it. Hubby said his bacon was excessively salty as well. We both left over half our meal, we couldnt eat it.
