Bidrage med feedbackThis place is beautiful. Located on the top floor of Sofitel Lyon, it has a beautiful decoration and a beautiful view over the river. The food is amazing and you have the opportunity to choose wine pairing for smaller menus if you want. The Sommalier was extremely attentive and made an excellent selection of wines for us. We took the menu with 3 dishes and dessert. We have 2 Amuse-Bouches: little selection agent and salmon on cauliflower. The dishes were: foie grass and churtney, scallops with mushrooms and white beans (delicious), beef fillet with little vegetables and beef cheeks, cheese and pear cake. It was a great experience. My only comment is that you do not give menus with the prices for women. I have an unpaid menu and my husband has one. I think this is very sticky and from time practice! I recommend coming here if you are in Lyon!
Cheap, but with some pretty good food, strong service and excellent views. It is definitely worth trying on your trip to Lyon. I started with the oyster and scaloptare that was unforgettable. This court alone made it worthwhile. When it came with a sauce, I thought it was a risky order, but it's probably one of my favorite dishes I've ever had, the very sharply fresh, well prepared seafood with incredible texture. I had this special Paul Bocuse inspired beef dish. It was good, but it was very expensive. Maybe. I might not have been willing to eat it as we had a huge lunch; therefore perhaps his fault and I would have ordered something else.
I had a great cooking menu. 7 courses were actually 10! Wine pairing was good. I was refreshing to go from BIG California wines to the finer French wines. Everything was nice and delicious. Ironically, while I had pushed about 250 euros the same thing in a high-end restaurant in Vegas, thousand dollars (Rubichon)
At the 8th floor of the Sofitel hotel, you get a view of Lyon and the Rhone that is incomparable (except maybe from the 1st arrondissement or the fourvière basilica). The music is soft and peaceful and does not overpower any conversation. I tried the lunch menu some rosé wine that paired very nicely with the entrée, a ravioli type dish that leaves a pleasantly sweet aftertaste on the tongue. The service is excellent: the waiters and waitresses push your chairs in after you, present the food and its ingredients with their french names, lift the silver covers off the plat (main dish) in a spectacular manner, and are overall very helpful while having a non-obtrusive presence while they attend to the water-refilling and whatnot. For my cheese platter, they actually rolled in a decently sized cart filled with a variety of different cheeses and explained each one, after which I got to choose 3. And then after a good meal and dessert, when I thought it was done, they closed with another sort of mise-en-bouche with a marshmallow, some dark chocolate, etc. From what I saw, there are not very many people (only another table filled at sunday lunchtime) so I don't think it's necessary to reserve in advance. Also, I believe they can speak english well, so don't worry if you are not fluent in french.
The best table in Lyon without hesitation! Everything is perfect, the idyllic frame with panoramic views of the city and elegant decoration as well as very attentive staff, smiling, with a constant but discreet presence. And of course the kitchen is perfect, the dishes are all more delicious than others with a perfect balance of flavors and dressage is splendid.
